Talking about the current hip-hop scene, Sololex said, “It is a hard truth, that fans of hip hop & rap music often have a tendency to idolize their heroes. They will often remember the small things that their favorite artists did, to show respect to their fans, like sending a thoughtful text or making an effort to speak to a fan when they’re in a public place. Sometimes, this can lead to fans being slighted by their favorite artist. For example, when K-pop’s idol rapper PSY, was in the United States, he was met with a lot of criticism, for only speaking to white people & ignoring his fans of color.”

Then talking about his favorite artists, he said, “In the world of hip hop, there’s a lot of great rappers, but very few who can claim to be the absolute best. That title is usually reserved for a small group of artists, who have achieved greatness in the industry; earning respect from both fans & critics alike. One of the most famous of these rappers, is the legendary Kendrick Lamar, who has become one of the most successful rappers in the game; selling millions of [albums] & earning countless awards & accolades in the process.”

It has been growing in popularity globally, especially in Canada & the US, where big acts like Post Malone, Juice WRLD & 21 Savage have become superstars.

Still digesting the news of the new album, from the man who single-handedly brought the art form of rap music back from the dead, the world is still trying to figure out exactly what MGE is all about. Is he a rock star rapper, a pop rapper, a country rapper, or something else entirely? The truth is, MGE is all of those things & more. He’s a master of melodic rap with the skills to match.

Talking about his recent work, he said, “You all are probably wondering what this project is all about. Maybe you’re even a little skeptical. I can understand those feelings. After all, I’ve been writing rap music for years. Give it some time; the genius will dawn on you!”

Responding to a question about his childhood, he said, “When I was younger, I always wanted to be a writer. I spent hours, even days, sitting in cafés, staring out of the window, imagining what it would be like to be a famous writer.
